Memory Care

Making life easier for people living with Alzheimer’s and dementia in western PA area.

Memory care helps make aging easier for people living with Alzheimer's and dementia. Presbyterian SeniorCare Network set the standard for dementia care when it opened Woodside Place in 1991. Located on the Oakmont campus, Woodside Place was the first care community of its kind to specialize in meeting the physical, mental and social needs of individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. In sharp contrast to the institutional settings of the day, the building heralded an intimate household model that capitalized on residential design. The design also incorporated visual cues that encourage mobility and comfort within a secure environment.

Our proven track record and ongoing pursuit of innovative dementia care approaches supports our position today as a Dementia Care Center of Excellence. Woodside Dementia Care Standards, which are utilized across our Network, have been embraced by senior living communities nationally and internationally. Our team member training and person-centered programming has continued to evolve and remains relevant 25 years later.

The Woodside model offers an individualized, person-centered quality of life not possible within traditional care settings.

As your loved one’s needs change, our expert team integrates the necessary physical, social and psychological services through our personal care, nursing care, and supportive housing communities, along with caregiver-focused offerings such as respite care and family support groups. In addition to full-time residential living, we offer an Adult Day program.
