For more than 70 years, Presbyterian SeniorCare has been improving the lives of older adults in southwestern Pennsylvania. A Christ-centered, non-profit organization, Presbyterian SeniorCare offers seniors a variety of living and care options, including , assisted living, independent and supportive housing, nursing care, Alzheimer's care, home health care, CCRC living and more. Presbyterian SeniorCare assists and supports more than 5,000 older adults of all faiths and income levels annually at over 40 facilities thoroughout southwestern Pennsylvania.

History:
Presbyterian SeniorCare began as a small home for eight Presbyterian women in Glenshaw, Pennsylvania. Since then it has grown into southwestern Pennsylvania's largest and most diverse provider of long-term care, housing and in-home and community-based services.

The philosophy behind the non-profit organization's unique approach is a Continuum of Care. It affords seniors a wide variety of living and care options, enabling them to remain as independent as possible in a living environment of their choice. It also provides them with a dedicated care management team whose job it is to ensure that the resident gets the most out of any and every setting he or she chooses or needs. In addition, Presbyterian SeniorCare has affiliations with all the region's major healthcare providers, ensuring consistent, quality care throughout the larger continuum from hospital to home.

Presbyterian SeniorCare is responsible for the creation of Woodside Place, an award-winning, internationally recognized specialty personal care home for persons with Alzheimer's disease. One of the very first of its kind in the nation, Woodside Place was built as an innovative alternative to traditional nursing care and has been featured in articles by New Yorker magazine and the Associated Press, and reports on National Public Radio and NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw and ABC World News Tonight.

It is because of pace-setting innovations like Woodside Place and the continuum approach to the needs and desires of older adults that Presbyterian SeniorCare is looked to as a national leader in the field of aging and this region's premiere provider of quality facilities and services for older adults.
