Shenango on the Green Reveals Plan for Carriage Homes
July 24, 2019
Introduces New Wilmington’s First Smart-Home Community
Hosting its own version of a “reveal party,” Shenango on the Green unveiled the name and plans for its new carriage home community today at a morning reception.
The new “smart” homes, which will be built upon the site of a former Westminster College fraternity house, serve as an extension of the existing Shenango on the Green campus and will be connected by convenient sidewalks for easy access to the additional amenities at the main campus at 238 South Market Street.
As the drapery adorning the poster display board slowly was uncovered, Shenango on the Green Executive Director Caroline DeAugustine announced, “We’re proud to share our new name and logo for StoneCreek of Shenango on the Green. This amazing new community is the latest example of our commitment to the growth and vitality of Lawrence County and our New Wilmington neighbors. As a new extension of our campus, the new StoneCreek carriage community will serve as an open invitation for everyone in the region to get reacquainted with everything Shenango on the Green has to offer.”
Based on market studies and consumer feedback, each carriage home will feature 1585 square feet of livable space, two bedrooms, two full baths, an attached two-car garage, as well as an enclosed sunroom leading to an outdoor patio. Nestled within a wooded clearing, StoneCreek of Shenango on the Green will have its own private road – StoneCreek Lane – right off of Market Street.
The developer for the project, Gary Renaud, principal of Renaud-Peck Builders, discussed the site plan which features 12 homes and shows future plans for an additional home and clubhouse. He noted that the site work has begun and today marked the official ground-breaking for the project.
Sherie Babb, Mayor of New Wilmington, acknowledged the exciting potential of the Shenango on the Green expansion, which will be New Wilmington’s first smart-home community.
“We are extremely excited to be partnering with K4Connect to provide smart solutions through technology that supports more healthy, independent and engaged lives for future StoneCreek residents,” remarked Jim Pieffer, senior vice president of Presbyterian SeniorCare Network. Shenango on the Green is part of the Presbyterian SeniorCare Network 10-county family of living and service options dedicated to Making Aging Easier®.
“We are proud of our longstanding partnership with Shenango on the Green, which goes back nearly 30 years, and how they have grown from a single 66-bed facility known as Shenango Presbyterian Home in 1968 to a campus offering a full continuum of services and living options including 48 independent living apartments which opened in 2002,” added Pieffer.
