Golf Outing Raises nearly $250,000 for Mosaic Apartments and Oakmont Campus Charitable Care Fund

Golf Outing signature sponsor National Equity Fund, Inc., sent a large group of players to the Presbyterian SeniorCare Foundation’s 29th annual golf outing in May.

Presbyterian SeniorCare Foundation Breaks Fundraising Record at 29th-Annual Golf Outing

Maybe it was “U.S. Open Fever.”

The Presbyterian SeniorCare Foundation’s 29th annual golf outing, held at Oakmont Country Club in May, raised a record-setting amount for older adults, netting nearly $250,000.

The US Open Trophy was on display for golfers to see this year.

The golf outing happened four weeks prior to  the excitement of the 125th U.S. Open on the same course. This provided the 120 golfers who supported Presbyterian SeniorCare Network with a special preview of play on the newly renovated course that was made more challenging for the U.S. Open.

Funds raised from the golf outing will benefit Mosaic Apartments, an affordable housing community in Oakland that Presbyterian SeniorCare Network is building with several partners. The apartments are designed to be friendly to LGBTQ+ low-income seniors in Pittsburgh, making it the first of its kind in western Pennsylvania and second in our state. The building is scheduled to open in early November.

Proceeds will also benefit Presbyterian SeniorCare Network’s charitable care fund, which supports care community residents who no longer have sufficient resources to pay for their care. As a nonprofit, mission-driven provider of living and care options, these funds ensure that no one will ever be asked to leave one of our care communities because of an inability to pay. Presbyterian SeniorCare Network  provides more than $30 million in charitable and uncompensated care every year.

The annual golf outing is Presbyterian SeniorCare Network’s most successful annual fundraising event. It has raised more than $3 million for programs and projects that directly benefit our residents since its inception.

This year’s golf outing marks the 29th year that Mistick Construction has served as the Title Sponsor.

Other major sponsors included National Equity Fund, Inc.; Pipitone; AT&T; Arbor Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Inc.; Chrislynn Energy Services, Inc.; Cura Hospitality; Huntington Bank; MEI Cyberguard; SAM – Solutions for Account Management, Inc.; UPMC Health Plan; and Waller Corporation.

“Because of our donors, we are Making Aging Easier® so that older adults can age successfully and receive the right care and support that’s best for them, wherever they are on life’s journey,” said Jim Pieffer, Presbyterian SeniorCare Network president and CEO.
